Join the Mothbox Working Group for our first meeting!
We're kicking off the Mothbox Working Group with our first meeting on August 28th at 14:00 UTC.

The Mothbox is a low-cost, automated, open source insect monitor designed to be lightweight and easy to deploy in the jungles of Panama. The Mothbox is an example of accessible, open science hardware that helps researchers worldwide better understand insect biodiversity. Thanks to funding from WILDLABS, we are currently developing a mass-manufacturable version of the Mothbox in collaboration with the Open Science Shop. Our goal is to establish a global network of Mothbox vendors, so that anyone, anywhere, can get their hands on a low-cost conservation tool!
You can learn more about the Mothbox and what we've accomplished so far by reading our first post here!
Similar to the existing Open Science Shop - OpenFlexure Microscope Working Group, we're establishing a Working Group (WG) focused on the distributed manufacturing of Mothboxes. The WG will hold monthly meetings with various makers, vendors, and open hardware enthusiasts interested in building and selling Mothboxes. Our first meeting is scheduled for August 28th at 14:00 UTC. If you would like to join, please register here.
